UCLA's MS in Business Analytics is an up and coming program in the data science education field. The program is deeply embedded within the business school where students take classes from world renowned faculty. As is traditional in these programs, students learn statistical modeling, data management, visualization, and optimization. Students also focus on domain areas such as entertainment, hospitality and e-commerce analytics. Students receive project guidance and mentorship from faculty such as Professor Keith Chen, Former Head of Economic Research for Uber responsible for redesigned Uber's dynamic "Surge" pricing model. Projects can start anywhere from June to late August and can run 1-3 months, depending on the scope. There will likely be a team of 3-5 guided by a faculty advisor. At the start of the project, students will have completed 2/3 of the program.
